Reading Time: 3 minutes

During our #Veeam100Summit in Berlin, we all always eager to know what’s coming on on product updates.

This year, we had an interesting session about the upcoming Veeam Data Platform (VDP) V12.3. Let’s see what to expect from this version:

Major features

The major features as previously announced are:

  • Microsoft EntraID backup (Formerly Azure Active Directory) – You can follow the user guide from here.

  • Coveware Recon software access included in VDP Premium for Proactive Threat Assessment: Coveware is a rapidly growing, fully distributed company with employees across the world. As Rick Said:

“I guarantee it will find something about your environment you didn’t know.”

This is quite true, with Natural Language- Based Reporting features, you will find something you miss in your environment. Like backup infrastructure observability:

Production Infrastructure Observability

Actionable Insights – In Your Own Language!

Indicators of Compromise (IoC) Detection

  • Built-in detection of the appearance of tools used by hackers for penetration, lateral movement, escalation of privileges, data exfiltration, etc.
  • Integrated into Veeam Threat Center
  • Provides scalable detection of IoC on all protected machines but does not go as deep as Recon software – basically opposite.
  • In an ideal world, users would use Recon to perform a deeper inspection of machines flagged by the IoC Detection functionality.

Veeam Threat Hunter

  • Built-in signature-based malware scanning engine with millions of signatures to check against
  • Industry-leading malware detection with real-time addition of signatures for newly discovered threats
  • Malware signatures are updated in real-time as new threats appear (every few hours)
  • Light and fast – finally, a malware scan that is usable at scale!
